Passport Today

We got Rocky's passport today. I am going to be on a chat with our adoption facilitator tomorrow for an hour at noon. We will make our final plans and should have a better idea of travel time. I wish it would be tomorrow.

My good adoption Friend Kylie is in the Congo right now and she plans on visiting the orphanage and giving Rocky a present from us. We sent him a voice recording of our family telling him we love him with a necklace, sweatshirt and some trinkity stuff. 

We Heard from Rocky Today

A man named Paul went to Rocky's orphanage and watched him and spoke with him. He wrote a brief write up about him. I was so happy to get this. This is what Paul wrote:

I was very happie to see Dodo. He was the first I laid eyez on when I came in. He was very happie

to see a new face. I asked him question about what he thought bout his new familie. He replied he is good

with going to see familie and wants to meet the big kids. He is sacrd a small amount but it looks like he is not

really understand the reel term of adoption. He was talking in Lingala and was able to talk good.

After speaking to him he went back to playin with one of the other kids. He look healthy. I told him that his parent love him

and are very happie to get him home to US as soon as they can get to congo.

I cried after I read this. I am so happy he is excited about his older brother and sister. Boy I want to go today and get him. I am so happy.

Rocky gets a new Toy

Rocky got a new toy at the orphanage which this is his first toy he ever got. He has the first smile we ever saw on his face. it still isn't the biggest smile yet but we are happy with the smile he gave. I guess he wasn't happy because he had to take time out from playing with his new toy to take this picture. I love to see this big smile. Lets appreciate what we have tho. Look at the small toy he gets to play with and he is over joyed. Here in the US that would not happen. Any child getting a toy like that would be disappointed. Be happy for what we have.



Gifts for Rocky

My friend is going to the Congo to pick up her 2 angels and she is taking gifts for Rocky. I bought him some really small items but one item is a frame where we recorded our voice. We all said I love you in Lingala and then said our names. I can't wait for him to see and hear this.

I also sent him a shirt with his name on the back not Rocky but it says Dodo. this is the name he goes by in Africa.

Party Today

I am exhausted. We had the best time today. All of our family and friends came to Rocky's Road Home. We have to thank Jodi at Jodi's Pit Stop for doing all of this for Rocky. We made aroud $900 and that is more than what we ever dreamed of. I will post pics at a later time.

 

Things with Rocky have been great. We got his Birth Cert. with his name finally spelled right. I know Thuerwachter is a big name. But it could be lots of problems with the incorrect spelling.

 

I might travel in October. There are so many facotrs for all of this to happen so all we can do is pray and hope that things will happen quickly.

 

My kids loved working the bar today. I love them so much. They have helped more than ever.
